Wilderness of "Sin"

For part of our field trip on Monday, we drove down to southern Israel to walk around the remains of the town Beer Sheeba (yes from the Bible)

The well outside the city....

 Then onto an overlook of the wilderness of Zin (ya where the Israelites wandered for 40 years) looks somethin like this...
So when they told us they were going to re-create their wanderings, I was imagining some kind of trek up the dunes but it actually turned out to be more like this...

And this...
Way different right? We then scaled the cliffs...ALL THE WAY OUT OF THE CANYON!!!
It was actually a pretty amazing experience. We sang "Redeemer of Israel" at the top, the spirit was very strong and I got chills multiple times.

"How long we have wandered as strangers in sin and cried in the desert for thee!"
